The dashboard

This is what you land on. Everything else is one click away.

Your value, profit, today’s move and movers and your mix up top, your history and a map of your holdings underneath, then your stocks and ETFs. Every other view is one tab away.

Your real return · you vs. the index

Everyone quotes “the market did 9%”. Almost no one checks their own number honestly.

Valence replays every deposit and withdrawal you made into the index of your choice and draws that line next to yours: same money, same days. Sometimes it is a victory lap. Sometimes it is the most useful bad news you will get all year.

Converted to your base currency: S&P 500 · MSCI World · Emerging Markets · STOXX 600 · AEX · any period or your own date range

How it works

From broker exports to one picture in a few minutes.

  1. Export. Download a CSV from each broker. The import dialog shows where each one keeps it. No bank login, no API keys.
  2. Preview. Drop it in. Valence recognises the format, shows every row with its asset type (which you can change), and skips duplicates before anything is saved.
  3. See. Positions, history and your real return across every account, in one currency. Add the next broker the same way.

What you own

Which of your holdings are actually earning their keep, across every broker.

Stocks, ETFs and crypto, bond funds, commodities and the cash at each broker, converted to your base currency at live rates. London listings in pence and futures in cents come out right instead of a hundred times too large.

Realized and unrealized kept apart, an annualised return on every row, and the FIFO lots behind each position. Expand a row to see them.

Bond funds with yield, duration and credit quality, commodities in their own units, and the cash at each broker with its interest. Cash counts toward your net worth, not your return.

Your broker’s percentage ignores when you added money. Valence reports your money-weighted return, and splits what you locked in from what is still on paper.

You might own the same company three times. Valence opens each fund and adds its top holdings to what you hold directly, so NVIDIA held directly and through two ETFs adds up to one number.

Built from the top 10 holdings each fund publishes; Valence shows how much of your ETF value that covers.

What you own · one holding, up close

Open any holding: every buy and sell on its chart, and what the fund holds inside.

Click a position: your average cost and every buy and sell sit on its price line, with returns, ranges, P/E, the analyst target, RSI and volatility underneath. For a fund, its top holdings and sectors too. It works for anything you search.

What you own · where risk hides

See where your risk is actually hiding.

The map sizes each position by value and colours it by how unusual today’s move is for that holding, in standard deviations. A calm bond fund moving 2σ lights up like a tech stock’s routine day.

The correlation heatmap shows when “diversified” is really one bet wearing five names.

What it costs

What your funds and brokers cost you, and how to stay on target.

What each ETF’s expense ratio costs you per year, next to what every broker charges in commissions and custody.

Set a target share per asset class. See the drift, what to buy or trim, and how to split new money so you rebalance without selling.

Also: Tax P&L, your realized gain per asset per year from FIFO lots, ready for tax season (a preparation aid, not an official tax report), and Reinvestment, every sale checked for whether its money went back into the market within two weeks, partly, or sat in cash.

Will it last

Where you are on the way there, and whether the money lasts.

The forecast starts from your real portfolio and your own return, then projects forward. Add a withdrawal phase in the same tab and see whether the money lasts, or the age it runs out.

Your portfolio up to today, then the projection at your own return, next to everything you will have put in.

The example uses a steady 7% a year.

Set a withdrawal and see whether the money lasts. Max finds the largest amount that does; the outcome range runs a thousand market paths, the unlucky one-in-ten included.

Open the sample portfolio and try every view above yourself.

Research

The world around your portfolio.

Look anything up, screen the tickers you follow, and keep an eye on the markets, without adding any of it to your portfolio.

A screener: returns over four horizons on one scale, ranges, the analyst target, P/E, RSI and unusual volume, sortable by any of them.

About 70 instruments in eleven groups, from oil and gold to sector funds and world indices, and Currency: your base currency against the majors.

Also in the app

Closed positions, a mini chart for every holding, every transaction editable, your brokers’ fees in Config, and the Tax P&L, correlation and reinvestment views.

Questions

Before you import anything.

Do I have to connect my bank or broker account?

No. You download a CSV from each broker and import it, or type trades in with + Add. Valence never asks for a bank or broker login.

How current are the prices?

Stock and ETF prices come from public market feeds and are typically delayed by around 15 minutes; crypto updates in near real time. Valence tracks your portfolio; it is not a trading app.

Which currencies can I use?

Your base currency is EUR, USD or GBP. Holdings in any other currency are converted to it at live rates.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, but it is built for a real screen: the tables are dense. On a phone you get the same app, with fewer columns at a time.

Can I take my data with me, or delete it?

Export your summary, lots and transactions as CSV, or a PDF snapshot, at any time. Deleting your account removes everything in one step; backups roll off within 30 days.

What does Premium cost, and can I cancel?

€6 a month, locked for life when you subscribe during the beta (€10 after it), with a 14-day trial and no card needed. Cancel any time from Account, Billing; Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
